Co. Model 1901 (?) Deskstand
This model #4 deskstand is often
referred to as the 1901 Kellogg deskstand. Notice the
differences in the transmitter, cup and switchhook from the
earlier 1900 model.
I believe the reference as
a "1901" model to be incorrect. In my humble opinion, it is
more likely a "1903" model for the following reasons. In the
1903 Kellogg Bulletin, the #12A receiver is referenced with
this style model #4. The #12A receiver had both a patent
application date and actual patent date in 1903 and
therefore was not available in 1901. Additionally, there is
an earlier #4 model with a K in the switchhook which is
probably the true "1901" model. It is displayed equipped
with the 6A style receiver and pictured in catalogues that
are post 1900, yet earlier than 1903.
